Transcript Requests

IMPORTANT 12/16/24 UPDATE

 The Admissions and Records Office will be closed for winter recess from December 23 to January 5. Any regular orders submitted during this period will be processed upon our return on January 6. Unfortunately, Rush and Express will also be unavailable during the closure of the winter recess.

Please ensure that you review your unofficial transcript via Self-Service on December 20 to verify the posting of your fall 2024 grades. If your grades are not displayed, kindly contact your instructor for further assistance.

Â鶹ӳ»­ has retained Parchment to accept transcript orders over the internet via a secured website.  Parchment will facilitate your request for a minimal charge (this is in addition to the regular transcript fee and any special handling charges) for up to five addresses per order. 

Please note transcript requests held for pick up will be disposed of if not claimed within a period of three months from date of transcript issue.

Processing Time for Official Transcripts

Regular transcript orders are processed approximately 7 - 10 business days from the time the order has been made and the authorization signature page has been received by Parchment. 

Rush Service transcripts are sent by USPS mail the next business day. If requested, transcripts can be picked-up in the Admissions & Records Office the next business day after 12:00 (noon). The transcript will be available the designated pick-up period during regular business hours; Monday - Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday from 9am to 12pm. Transcripts will not be released without photo identification.

Express Service Transcripts are sent by USPS mail the same day as long as the order is made before noon that day. Orders can be picked-up the same day in the Admissions & Records office Monday - Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday from 9am to 12pm and may take up to one hour for processing. Transcripts will not be released without photo identification.

All transcript orders are sent via regular USPS mail.

 

Fees for Transcripts

  • Regular transcripts are $5.00 per transcript.
  • The Rush service fee is $10.00 for up to five, plus $5.00 per Transcript
  • The Express service fee is $25.00 for up to five, plus $5.00 per transcript.

* Please note your two free Transcripts are only sent via paper copy when requested to emails above. 

 

IGETC and CSU General Education Requirements

Students attending a four-year university need to request General Education Certification for Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETCor a California State University General Education Requirements (CSU) Certification depending on the university system that you are attending. Certification can be full or partial based on the areas completed.                          

Full Certification will demonstrate that you have completed lower-division general education requirements. 

Rush and Express services are unavailable if you need an IGETC or CSU-GE Certification with your transcript order. These will only be mailed directly to the college or university listed on the request and cannot be sent to a home address or personal email. Processing time for IGETC and CSU-GE Certification is approximately 2-4 weeks.

Students planning to use High School or another institution courses must request official evaluation of transcripts, and/or AP, CLEP, and IB exam credit to satisfy IGETC or CSU-GE requirements, must send all official records to be evaluated by the NVC’s Admissions and Records office as soon as possible. Requests for IGETC or CSU-GE Certification will not be completed until all documents are evaluated.

Before requesting one of these two certifications, it is highly recommended that you check with a counselor to determine which, if any, of the two options is best for you.

Students may  via the Â鶹ӳ»­ Admissions and Records website in the final term of enrollment or as soon as they complete the Student Intent to Register (SIR) with the university.

 

Important Notes

If you were a student prior to 1978, transcript processing will take up to four weeks and the Rush or Express transcript services are NOT available for these records.

If you are ordering transcripts that require current term grades, please indicate that you want them HELD and sent after final grades are posted. Rush or Express service is NOT recommended for these orders.

Common Application: A Common Application must be submitted with a transcript request; this is not an automatic process. The transcript will be charged at the regular rates, no rush is available.

Student-Initiated Transcript Evaluation Request

Please see a counselor for guidance on which courses to take so that you do not duplicate coursework earned at another institution or initiate a transcript evaluation HERE.

We recommend you bring unofficial transcripts to your counseling appointment and submit official transcripts to the Admissions and Records office for future evaluation.
