CalWORKs - California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids

CalWORKs (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids) is a statewide public assistance program that provides cash aid and services to eligible families that have a child or children in their household.

The CalWORKs Program at Â鶹ӳ»­ helps parenting students with children under 18 years old pursue their educational and occupational goals while meeting county guidelines and requirements.

Eligibility

  • Receiving CalWORKs services from the County Health and Human Services Agency
  • Be enrolled in a class NVC.  

Intake Appointment

To join the NVC CalWORKs Program, please complete the following steps:

  1. Complete Steps 1-3 of the 5 Steps to Enroll.
  2. Request a verification of benefits (CalWORKs)
    •  Download a verification of benefits from or
    • Request a verification from your County Worker
  3. Complete a .
  4. Schedule an appointment with the CalWORKs Counselor by clicking the "Book an Appointment" on the side bar or by calling 707-256-7301.
  5. Bring the following documents with you to the appointment:
    • Current verification of CalWORKs
    • Copy of your county Welfare-to-Work plan (if completed)
    • County Worker contact information
